Interview with the Anticancer Fund on patient information and innovative treatments

Representatives of the Anticancer Fund shared their experience in helping people with cancer understand treatment options and scientific evidence.

On 23 July 2026, the LIVERATION team interviewed two representatives of the Anticancer Fund to learn from their professional experience through My Cancer Navigator, a service that helps people with cancer understand treatment options and the available scientific evidence.

The discussion explored the information patients need when they are offered a new or unfamiliar cancer intervention; how benefits, risks, alternatives and uncertainties should be communicated; which concepts or terminology may be difficult or potentially misleading; and how patients can be supported in preparing questions and participating in treatment decisions.

The interview also helped identify the key information that should be included in patient-facing materials about innovative surgical technologies.
